Warning: this article contains spoilers for Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

If you were disappointed at not seeing as much Channing Tatum in Kingsman: The Golden Circle as you wanted (and let's be honest, we all were), there was a legitimate reason.

Despite featuring heavily in the teasers, Tatum was much less prominent in the eventual movie – for example, his lasso in an early trailer was chiefly attributed to Pedro Pascal's character Whiskey in the end, and that wasn't the only disappointment (though we still do love Pascal with a lasso).

In the final cut, Tatum's character Tequila falls victim to villain Poppy (Julianne Moore) fairly early on in the film after taking her drugs, and so he is frozen for the rest of the movie.

However, according to Taron Egerton there is a legitimate reason why the film was less Tatum-y than thought – the star had scheduling conflicts.

"There was a shift of sorts," the Eggsy actor explained to The Hollywood Reporter. "There was some changing because of Channing's schedule. The thing is that the script is constantly in flux."

As a consequence, Egerton worked more prominently with Pascal, adding: "Pedro and I got to spend so much time together, and he's amazing."

At the end of the movie, Tequila does pop up at the Kingsman headquarters, so there may still be more to see of Tatum should a third movie be made.

"I know the next storyline," Egerton teased of a potential sequel. "But what the f**k can I say? Not much."

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is in cinemas now.
