Why Le Manoir is the perfect place for a luxurious getaway this spring

Here at Red, there’s plenty we adore about spring in the countryside – from delicate pink petals appearing on cherry blossom trees to those first evenings of sipping cocktails outdoors.

The loveliest way to appreciate nature bursting back to life is with a mini-break, where you can soak up the beauty of spring and taste delicious seasonal dishes made with the UK’s brilliantly bountiful produce.

Far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Oxfordshire's luxurious Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons awaits in a beautiful rural location for you to experience spring in the UK at its very best.

Surrounded by stunning scenery, the hotel provides a fine place for some much-needed R&R, with a restaurant run by Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc that serves exquisite dishes as part of its acclaimed seven-course tasing menu.

Offering an unforgettable way to get away from it all and escape for a break with your mum, partner or best friend, this magical hotel is known as one of the most luxurious places to stay in Britain.

From the moment you step out of your car, you'll feel the luxury all around. After settling in to your cosy room, step outside to explore the pretty gardens and wander around the hotel’s orchards.

And in the evening, you’ll of course want to check out the hotel’s acclaimed two-Michelin star restaurant, where Raymond Blanc serves an exceptional menu of delightful and artfully presented seasonal dishes.

To show you why you'll want to witness the romance and grandeur of Le Manoir this spring, here are four reasons to take a trip.

Cosy and classic rooms

The rooms at Le Manoir have all been designed with fantastical flair based on Raymond Blanc’s life and travels. There are only 32 and you can expect decadent fabrics, marble bathrooms and countryside chic decor all around.

The incredible, palatial rooms all have gorgeous living areas decked out with antique furniture and, in some of them, you can expect beautiful original features like exposed beams, and extra features such as a double Jacuzzi bath, wood-burning stove or private terrace.

Along with the inviting tubs, spectacular murals and beautifully carved antique furniture, there are dreamy views over the hotel’s pretty courtyard.

Hotel-grown produce

With its own two-acre kitchen garden where the chefs grow more than 90 varieties of vegetables and 70 herbs, as well as a mushroom valley and heritage orchards, there's no better place for food lovers to come for a mini-break.

These impressive organic gardens provide a lovely backdrop for your stay out in the Oxfordshire countryside, as well as making the restaurant menu an enticing showcase of the best seasonal flavours. Just walking through the kitchen garden, you can take in wonderful scents that fill the air.

Scenic spring walks

We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to stunning landscapes in the UK and a leisurely spring walk to get lost among the trees and fields is a must. At Le Manoir, you can get back to nature as you explore its picture-perfect grounds - there's a total of 11 gardens.

Be sure to walk through the glorious orchard, be enchanted by the Garden Courtyard and enjoy a moment of zen in the Japanese Tea Garden - this is probably our favourite. There are also ponds and a wildflower meadow to explore.

The gardens are simply magnificent and you'll love the sights and sounds all around you.

Sumptuous dishes

It's all about the food at Le Manoir and with its two Michelin-starred restaurant and cookery school that showcases ingredients loved by celebrated chef Raymond Blanc, you know you're in safe hands.

In spring, the rural hideaway celebrates the season’s wonderful, fresh flavours in delicate, beautifully presented dishes. You can expect the likes of Oxfordshire lamb, white asparagus and spring vegetable risotto on the seasonal menu – using ingredients sourced from the kitchen garden.

During your stay at Le Manoir you’ll no doubt want to sample the restaurant’s exquisite tasting menu (not included in package), and you’ll enjoy an extensive breakfast spread when you wake up in the morning as part of your stay.
