Why Leandro Trossard was sent off in Premier League game vs Man City as Arsenal fume
Leandro Trossard was sent off late in the first half for Arsenal against Manchester City for delaying the restart of the game.
The Gunners man collected his second yellow card following a foul on Bernardo Silva, after which the Belgian kicked the ball away. It meant an early bath for for the forward.
It followed Declan Rice's dismissal against Brighton for the same offence which prompted an angry reaction from Arsenal chief Mikel Arteta. And the Gunners boss was again left furious at the Etihad Stadium. The Premier League match centre X account explained the decision, writing: "The referee issued a second yellow card to Leandro Trossard for delaying the restart."

The dismissal came after Arsenal had came from behind to lead 2-1. Erling Haaland put City in front with his 100th goal for the club but Riccardo Calafiori equalised in controversial fashion with City unhappy that a free kick was taken quickly after Kyle Walker was called to speak to referee Oliver and was subsequently not back in position when Arsenal scored.
Gabriel then put the visitors in front with a header from a corner in the first minute of first half added time before Trossard saw red. He was shown his first yellow card for a tactical foul in the 34th minute.
