Liverpool fans are likely to descend on Anfield when Dua Lipa performs at the Reds' iconic home in 2025. It was today confirmed the global-renowned singer will be taking to the stage at Anfield as part of her first UK stadium tour, which comes on the back of Taylor Swift performing on Merseyside earlier this year.

Dua Lipa's presence in Liverpool is set to have extra importance attached to it due to the connection she has formed with supporters of the club in recent years. This bond first began six years ago when the 29-year-old performed 'One Kiss' in Kyiv as part of the opening ceremony for the 2018 Champions League final between the Reds and Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Three years into her music career, at that juncture, the London-born artist was growing in popularity but wasn't quite the household name she is now. She soon rose to prominence, and was appreciative of all the support she received from Reds inside the stadium, who joined in with belting out the track ahead of kick-off in Ukraine.

"One of the highlights of the night was definitely seeing the video of all the Liverpool fans chanting along to One Kiss afterwards," Dua Lipa told Liverpool's official website in 2020. "I felt very honoured."

That evening kickstarted a newly-born association between Dua Lipa and Liverpool, with 'One Kiss' being played after the Reds' Carabao Cup and FA Cup final victories during the 2021/22 season. Both players and staff members joined in with the song - along with fans in attendance at Wembley.

It was also played after the FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City that campaign and then again following the 2022 Community Shield. It's also now a popular soundtrack for Liverpool's stadium announcer and DJ, George Sephton, who takes charge of the playlist on matchdays. Last season, the song was played at the full-time whistle of Liverpool's 4-2 win over Newcastle United on New Year's Day.

During a previous interview with WIRED magazine Dua Lipa labelled herself as an 'honorary Liverpool supporter', adding: "It's always got a special place in my heart." She then conceded: "My dad and brother support Arsenal. I think I would be getting in a lot of trouble if I'd I just support Liverpool."
