Why the Loose Women won't be drunk or hungover after the NTAs

After Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield famously hosted This Morning a teeny weeny bit drunk from the night after winning at the National Television Awards in 2016, Susanna Reid has promised to break her sobriety if Good Morning Britain wins this year and be "99% alcohol" the next day.

But don't expect similar shenanigans from the Loose Women panel, as two of them are sober, and the others start the party so early that by 7pm, they're 'tired and emotional', and just want chips. They are women after our own hearts, after all.

"The best thing about the NTAs is getting ready," host Andrea McLean told Prima.co.uk. "Nadia [Sawalha] is brilliant, she usually smuggles in a bottle of vodka. We are like teenagers getting ready!

"We start at 4pm, so by the time the awards starts we're tired and want chips. We peak way too early. Stacey [Solomon] is brilliant though – she brings in a knapsack of sandwiches. They don't feed us during the ceremony."

But as Nadia is doing 100 days sober, she won't be sneaking vodka in this time.

"This is the first NTAs that I haven't had a drink at," Nadia added.

"We get ready here [at the ITV Studios] and I always bring a small bottle of vodka and give everyone shots before we get on the boat, and then we have a great time on the boat before we get there. But this year I won't be – me and Stacey are sober friends."

Good luck, Loose Women!
