This afternoon, Prince Harry joined other senior members of the royal family at Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor. But the Duchess of Sussex was notably absent.

Although it has not been confirmed, it's likely that the new mother stayed home to look after the couple's son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born on 6 May.

Since presenting their first child to the world, Meghan has stayed away from the spotlight and does not currently have any public engagements lined up according to the royal family's schedule.

Prince Harry arrived at the St George's Chapel ceremony alongside actress Sophie Winkleman, the bride's sister-in-law.

The Queen attended the nuptials as guest of honour, as she is a first cousin once removed of the bride. Surprisingly, she was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh who rarely makes public appearances since retiring last year.

The couple's children, Princess Anne and Prince Edward, also made the regal guest list while Princess Eugenie brought her new boyfriend, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, along.

But Meghan wasn't the only member of the Windsor family to have missed out, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also skipped the ceremony.

The Duke of Cambridge is expected to attend the FA Cup Final later today, an essential part of his role as President of the Football Association.

While the Duchess of Cambridge is likely to be looking after their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

However, the royal's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, joined her sister Pippa Middleton and husband James Matthews at the regal ceremony.

Today's outing is sure to bring back memories for Prince Harry, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex famously tied the knot at the very location on 19 May, 2018.

The couple will celebrate their first wedding anniversary tomorrow as a family of three.
