Why scaffolding will be spotted around Nuneaton's Pingles Leisure

Scaffolding is set to be erected at the Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton. It should appear from tomorrow (Monday, December 2).

This is because works for a vital £4.2m upgrade are about to get underway. As reported by CoventryLive, the town's biggest sports centre will see all of almost at the end of their life gas boilers replaced.

But the initial works will see PV panels installed on its roof. The aim of the whole project is to extend the life of the centre.

It is no secret that, ultimately, there ambitious plans for the centre to be completely rebuilt but the funds to pay for it have yet to be found. The borough council took the decision to provide a new £30m physical activity hub in Bedworth first due to the age and state of the existing Bedworth Leisure Centre.

News about the works at the Pingles Leisure Centre comes as other works are taking place at the nearby Nuneaton Art Gallery and Museum.

The tearoom within the popular facility is currently undergoing essential maintenance.
