Why 'Selling Sunset' Stars Heather Rae Young and Christine Quinn Ended Season 3 on Bad Terms

From House Beautiful

Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn always knows how to bring the drama. In season three of the Netflix original series, Quinn goes after Heather Rae Young's relationship with Tarek El Moussa.

While hanging out with Quinn and Davina Potratz, Young discusses a recent interview she did with El Moussa. She explains that the interview was supposed to be about their relationship; however, she was put on the spot with questions about her Selling Sunset costar Chrishell Stause’s divorce. Young’s unprepared answers then became the entire focus of the article. She explains that she texted Stause immediately after the interview to explain that she never intended to comment to the media on Stause’s personal life. Quinn and Potratz assured her that Stause would understand. However, Quinn began to mock Young’s presence in the media while doing so.

Quinn explains to Young that Stause wouldn’t be mad because “She sees your ‘baking cookies’ articles. She sees your ‘going to CVS articles.’ She sees ‘you going to the restaurants’ articles,” implying that Young is featured in the media more than she should be.

Quinn further takes a jab at Young by accusing her of deliberately inviting paparazzi to events just to get coverage. "Unless you're Jennifer Aniston, I don't think the paparazzi just follows you around," she says, adding "people hire publicists and whole teams to get their name out there. They'll call or drop hints.”

Young defends herself saying that while certain things are set up, she does not call the paparazzi to show up. Potratz then suggests that El Moussa could be tipping off the press. Young denies that. "I can't help if people are interested in Tarek and my life," she says.

Later in the episode, Potratz apologizes to Young about questioning her relationship and its coverage in the media. Young notes that El Moussa has been on TV since 2011 and had a highly publicized divorce. She believes that because she is a new person in the HGTV star’s life, the media is picking on her more than usual.

While she’s able to forgive Potratz, she remains upset with Quinn."I don't know if she can handle that I'm getting more attention than her," Young says to Potratz of Quinn. She also notes that Quinn has brought up this issue on three separate occasions prior. Young explains that’s hurt because she can’t help that her relationship is being so heavily scrutinized by the media. "I get defensive and upset about it because you know how much I love him.”

In a recent interview with Page Six, Quinn discusses this feud and even compares Young and El Moussa to another reality TV couple: “Speidi,” after Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.

“It’s really funny to see Heather’s relationship play out because her and her boyfriend have such an interesting dynamic,” she told the outlet. "I call them ‘Speidi’ all the time because it’s like articles all the time about baking cookies, you know, watching movies. It’s ridiculous," she says.

While Young attended Quinn's wedding, it does not seem like the women made up, but rather temporarily put their feud on hold. "I love love," Young said when asked if she would still attend Quinn's wedding. Fortunately, no drama occurred at the ceremony. Young even caught the bouquet that Quinn tossed, implying that she would be married next.

As it turns out, last month El Moussa proposed to Young on the beach after the couple's one year anniversary. As these real estate pros begin to plan their wedding, we wonder: will Quinn, who doubted their relationship, be invited?
