Strictly Come Dancing is usually the anchor that the rest of BBC One's TV schedule is built around, so it's a rare occasion that the dancing show is moved.

However, this weekend will see Strictly's live show take place on Friday night instead of Saturday - giving the couples a day less to prepare for the quarter final.

Strictly almost never moves days, in large part because it causes havoc for the couples' training schedules.

This week, they'll be left with one day less to prepare for the quarter final live show - and it's also musicals week, to boot - because the live show will air on Friday, instead.

One event that trumps the Strictly live show in BBC One's schedules is of course the World Cup, and with the group C winners and group D runners up set to play each other on Saturday, the channel has made way for the match in its usual Strictly slot.

Strictly was actually moved at the beginning of the series, too, when the period of national mourning leading up to the Queen's funeral meant that the launch show (a pre-record) had to be delayed by a week.

What will happen to the results show?

The results show has also been shifted as the World Cup's group B winners and group A runners up match will air on BBC One on Sunday in the usual Strictly slot.
