Activist Lilian Tintori joined protesters in Caracas on April 4 to protest President Nicolas Maduro and the Supreme Court. Tintori’s husband, opposition figure Leopoldo Lopez, was jailed for 13 years and nine months in 2015 for “public incitement”.

On March 30 the Supreme Court in Caracas moved to take power from Venezuela’s elected National Assembly, which was led by parties opposed to Maduro and has been critical of his policies. The move drew criticism and condemnation from Venezuelan opposition politicians and international governments alike. Credit: Lillian Tintori via Storyful
