Wild Horses Escaping Davis Wildfire Hold Up Traffic

Drivers in Reno, Nevada, waited as a herd of wild horses took over a roadway while fleeing from the Davis fire on September 7.

The video, filmed by Lars Ames, shows horses moving together as smoke from the Davis fire is seen in the background.

Ames told Storyful that he saw two groups of horses, the first one “running through traffic,” and a second one, which he filmed.

“The Davis fire was northwest of my location and the herds appeared to be running away,” Ames said.

The fire was estimated at 5,000 acres, with zero percent containment. Credit: Lars Ames via Storyful
