Wildfire Burns in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest

The Sandy Valley Fire burning in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada had grown to 1,500 acres by Friday, June 11, and was zero percent contained, officials said.

The fire started about two miles west of US State Route 160 on Sandy Valley Road on Thursday at 1:34 pm, the Bureau of Land Management – Nevada (BLMNV) reported.

According to officials, the fire was believed to be “human caused” and was under investigation by BLMNV.
