Wildfire Forces Evacuation Order for Castlegar, British Columbia

A wildfire burning near Castlegar, British Columbia, prompted authorities to issue evacuation orders across parts of the city on Thursday, July 1.

According to the Castlegar Emergency Operations Centre, the fire within city limits was contained as of 2:30 pm, the City of Castlegar said.

The blaze was suspected to be human-caused, according to the British Columbia Wildfire Service.
