Wildfire Prompts Evacuations as Heat Warnings in Place in North Texas
Dozens of homes were evacuated near Possum Kingdom Lake in Palo Pinto County, Texas, on July 18, after a 300-acre wildfire broke out amid excessive heat warnings, NBC 5 reported.
Footage posted to Twitter shows a firefighting aircraft picking up water as smoke rises in the distance.
According to authorities, the fire was 300 acres and 0 percent contained as of late Monday.
The National Weather Service warned of critical fire danger for Tuesday, due to low humidity and high temperatures.
