Wildfire in South of France Destroys Campsite, Several Others Evacuated

Emergency services said 700 firefighters were deployed to tackle a wildfire that broke out in France’s southern Var department on August 16, causing several campsites to be evacuated, and destroying one.

This video, released by Sapeaurs-Pompiers du Var, shows flames and smoke from the fire, which started south of Gonfaron on Monday evening.

By the early hours of Tuesday, the fire had burned 4,000 hectares.
