A bull elk that fell into a swimming pool in the backyard of a residence in Estes Park, Colorado, was pulled to safety by a wildlife officer and a police officer on Sunday, August 23.
Officer Rylands of Colorado Parks and Wildlife lassoed a rope around the bull elk’s antlers and tried to pull the animal towards the swimming pool stairs.
Officer Watson, of the local police was on hand to help, the CPW said, and wrapped the rope around an outdoor staircase and attached it to the rear of a pickup truck.
Bodycam footage released by the CPW shows the elk being pulled slowly from the pool – much to the delight of onlookers who cheered in celebration. Credit: Colorado Parks and Wildlife via Storyful
