Will Smith and James Corden get jiggy in the 'Carpool Karaoke' Apple series debut
Our favorite British export James Corden is seen “Gettin Jiggy” with Will Smith in the debut episode of his new “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” on Apple Music, making us all green with envy because, let’s face it, he has the best job in the world.
The friend to the stars welcomed the hip-hop legend into the passenger side of his sweet sweet ride, and the pair cruised along Sunset Boulevard, not far from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s home, as they belted out his classic tunes.
Waving their hands in the air ’cause they just don’t care, the men took on “Gettin Jiggy” as well as Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s early-’90s rap banger “Boom! Shake the Room.”
It was glorious.
Corden even tried to impress his passenger, as you totally would, by saying that he had a “rap troupe” at school and his rap name was “Chub Nasty.”
And the pair also discussed the first time they met, with gentleman Smith revealing that he pretended to know who the Gavin and Stacey star was to be polite.
The Hollywood actor, 48, said: “It was the first time we met. We talked and it was, ‘Ah, man, you know it’s great, I love what you do’… we did all of that.”
“I didn’t really know you then. I had to look you up after.”
Corden, laughing, replied: “I remember it so clearly. I think I even texted a friend of mine and I was like, ‘Dude, Will Smith is so into me – it’s incredible.'”
They also rapped the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme, and the episode also saw the pals take to the air in a helicopter before Smith jokingly abandoned Corden on top of the U.S. Bank skyscraper in Los Angeles.
Miley Cyrus, John Legend, and Ariana Grande are among the stars who will be featured on the online show.
The late Chester Bennington filmed an episode, but Corden said this week he will let the family decide if they wish for it to be aired.
