He’s been a pop star, a West End star and a Strictly star (albeit briefly), but could Will Young’s next secret project take him onto the telly again?

In an interview on Graham Norton’s Radio 2 show today, he hinted that he was working on something that would make that happen.

He was on the radio to talk about the release of his new single, All the Songs, the first tune from his new album Lexicon. But the chat touched on Young’s diversity as an artist, which was when he let slip about the project.

“I’ve already started doing some songs for something else,” he admitted, “that’s a TV project and it’s been going on for three years with my friend Michael Gracey, who did The Greatest Showman.”

The Pop Idol star has worked extensively with the Australian director over the years, collaborating on three tours, a TV special, and the video for Your Game.

Gracey, who was largely known as a music director, before his breakout smash, recently directed Pink’s new video for Walk Me Home, which was released this week.

Young jumped on Twitter afterwards to confirm how happy he was share all his upcoming projects. His fans were quick to celebrate his return as well.

But he didn’t want to give away too much about the video for All the Songs, which was directed by photographer Rankin in the pre-recorded interview. Only saying “It’s really posh isn’t it? When Norton sounded impressed by Rankin’s involvement.

The song is a return to Young’s pop roots. In the video, things get a bit heated, as the singer slowly strips off, shedding a variety of outfits along the way.

When Norton asked him to comment on the track, all he we would say was “I was compos mentis when I wrote it.”
