William and Kate 'ban talk of Harry and Meghan' as they leave country

As the Prince and Princess of Wales head on their summer holidays to Scotland, they've reportedly put on a "self-imposed ban" of mentioning Prince Harry and Meghan. William and Kate have headed to Balmoral with their children as they enjoy some downtime.

The couple are holidaying with their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis at the Royal Family’s Scottish residence and they've also been joined on the getaway by King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Princess Anne. But insiders have revealed Williams' worry that Harry and Meghan will cause "undue stress" for his family, reports Express.co.uk.

The magazine Heat, which spoke to the Royal insider, said that Harry's interview in the US may have dashed any chance of the feuding siblings from reconciling. In the US interview, Harry branded the UK as "dangerous".

Our sister title Express.co.uk reached out to representatives from Kensington Palace and the Sussexes for comments. The source said: “Kate and William have put a self-imposed ban on anything Meghan and Harry-related, as they take time out to enjoy some much-needed respite and family time this summer.

"Kate’s still very much focussing on her healing, and they decided to create a firm boundary to protect her from all the stress and upset Harry and Meghan create, which understandably has a negative impact on her physical health, as well as mental health." The insider says William was concerned his wife would feel “anxious” about Harry and Meghan saying something that could upset her.

The Duchess of Sussex and Princess of Wales have reportedly had a strained relationship ever since Meghan was introduced to the Royal Family. The situation is said to have escalated in the run-up to Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018. According to Harry’s explosive memoir Spare, the pair had a disagreement over Charlotte’s flower girl dress.

Harry claims the pair had an exchange over text message that left Meghan “on the floor sobbing”. The following day Kate is said to have sent Meghan flowers and a card apologising.

Meanwhile Harry and William’s own feud escalated in 2019 when Harry claimed that his brother grabbed him by the collar and knocked him to the floor during a heated argument about Meghan. A year later Harry and Meghan quit royal life and moved their family to Montecito, California, USA.

Harry recently revealed he won’t be returning to the UK with Meghan, Archie, five, and Lilibet, three because it’s “still dangerous”. He said: “It’s still dangerous, and all it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read.

Whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is—and these are things that are of genuine concern for me. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.” The Express has reached out to representatives from Kensington Palace and the Sussexes for comments.
