William and Kate hear stories of sport and survival in Paris

The UK’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have met survivors of the 2015 Paris attacks on the second day of their visit to the French capital.

The royal couple visited the symbolic military museum of Les Invalides in Paris.

Prince William and his wife Kate praised the courage of two victims who described the circumstances of their injuries and the effects on their lives.

They met victims and first responders from the 2015 attacks at the Bataclan concert venue in Paris, as well as they 2016 truck attack in Nice.

The royal couple heard about the work carried out at Les Invalides, which supports veterans via its rehabilitation programmes.

Six Nations Rugby

A trip to the Stade de France to watch Wales play France in the Six Nations Rugby Championship was also on the itinerary.

William and Kate watched young rugby enthusiasts training in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower ahead of Saturday’s clash.

The couple are on a two-day official visit to the French capital. Officials say the itinerary has not been affected by Saturday morning’s incident at Orly airport.

Memories of Diana

The trip to Paris is William’s first official visit to the French capital since his mother died there in a car crash in 1997.

The visit does not include any official memorial events for Diana, Princess of Wales.
