William speaks of ‘saddest of circumstances’ in message to Earthshot Prize event

The Prince of Wales said he has taken comfort in the enthusiasm people have shown for a global environmental competition he is involved with, as he spoke during the “saddest of circumstances” since the Queen’s death. In a message recorded a day after his grandmother’s funeral, and broadcast on Wednesday, William said he believed the Queen would have “been delighted to hear about” the Earthshot Prize innovation summit. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern introduced the prince at the summit in New York, while also paying tribute to the Queen.
