Willie Miller slaps down Brendan Rodgers' claim that Celtic deserved to beat Aberdeen
Willie Miller has hit back at Brendan Rodgers' claim that Celtic deserved to beat Aberdeen after the two sides played out a thrilling draw at Parkhead.
In a game with a stunning comeback full of VAR drama, Jimmy Thelin's men almost completed their comeback when Duk bundled the ball into the net, only for Aberdeen's third goal of the game to be denied by VAR for a handball.
The hosts dominated the action at Parkhead, maintaining most of the possession and registering 32 attempts, but they failed to break through the stubborn Dons defence for a third time, or beat the outstanding Dimitar Mitov in goal once Aberdeen drew level.

Thelin's words of wisdom sparked the comeback, along with his half-time substitutions, as Ester Sokler and Graeme Shinnie pulled the Reds level having trailed to strikes from Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi at the break.
But after the game the Celtic manager said he felt his side deserved the victory for their performance having seen a late attempt in the 100th minute from Alistair Johnston blocked by Duk on the line to maintain the Dons' unbeaten start to the season.

Gothenburg Great Miller told the Scottish Football Podcast that he wasn’t having Rodgers' claims, as he also admitted he had to calm himself down after what had been a thrilling contest.
Asked if he agreed with Rodgers' claim, he said: "No, not really. I think they created a number of opportunities, but Aberdeen had that goal chalked off.
"It kind of bypassed Brendan in the interview. It was very marginal as well. Yes, they had plenty of chances. You expect Celtic to create chances. But Aberdeen stood firm.

"Duk makes a great block. Mitov fantastic saves. Hey, that’s what they are there to do, particularly goalkeepers make good saves at Celtic Park.
"I just thought it was refreshing. You have to give Jimmy Thelin, and this Aberdeen team, a huge amount of credit, for coming down here and making a real toe-to-toe game of it.
"I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am still shaking, by the way. I need a glass of rosé wine, just to calm down. A fantastic game of football."
