Hull Kingston Rovers coach Willie Peters is looking for two or three representatives from his club in the Super League Dream Team that is announced on Sunday.

Rovers have had several stand-out performers this season on the way to the club's best finish in the Super League era, finishing the campaign in second place ahead of the play-offs. Mikey Lewis, Peta Hiku and Elliot Minchella are among those who appear serious contenders for a place in the Dream Team.

Asked if he is expecting a few of his players to have Dream Team commitments, Peters said: "I'd definitely like to think so, there's no doubt about that. I think we've had some really strong performances from a number of players this year and we finished second in the ladder so you'd like to think we'd get two or three in."

Despite the absence of banned Minchella, Rovers managed a 26-16 victory over Leeds Rhinos at Craven Park to secure second place and a home semi-final - with moments of class coming from Lewis and Hiku. With the score at 10-10, early in the second half, Lewis weaved some magic to send Tom Opacic over for a try. In the 67th minute, while it was 20-10, Hiku flicked out a wonder pass for Joe Burgess to finish.

Those second-half strikes helped Rovers pull clear after a tight first half in which Hiku had also pounced for a try - but Leeds gave them a tough test. Peters gave an honest assessment, saying: "We were lucky to go in at 10-10, we could have been down by 10 points or 12 points. We were in a decent position on the scoreboard but not anywhere near it performance wise. The second half was better.

"We had some players in and out, there were a few changes. We are a squad and the players that came in did a job. But we certainly didn't have the fluency in the team and the cohesion that we do with players playing week in and week out together. You've got to give credit where credit's due to opposition teams as well. The players put in a good graft."
