Willie Peters' message to Jordan Abdull with permanent Hull KR exit confirmed

Hull KR have confirmed the permanent departure of Jordan Abdull from the club ahead of his move to Hull FC. The halfback, who is currently on loan with Catalans Dragons, has been granted a release from the final years of his contract, and will now join the Black and Whites.

Abdull was allowed to leave ahead of the 2024 season to take up an option to spend the year in France, where he has played regularly under Steve McNamara. The Robins signed Tyrone May and he has forget a strong partnership with Mikey Lewis this season.

Abdull was sent to entre the season as third choice at Craven Park and given that, head coach Willie Peters revealed he had an "honest conversation" with the England international. The opportunity to join Catalans emerged, and was one Abdull decided to take.

The Dragons had the option to make the move permanent but he has now opted to return to his home city and sign for the Black and Whites, who are expected to announce his arrival imminently.

Commenting on his departure from the club, Peters said: "Jordan was an important part of Hull KR for a number of years and we thank him for his service to the club. We wish him all the best in the future."
