Willy Gnonto makes Leeds United 'future' admission diehards will love after new deal
Willy Gnonto is delighted to have extended his stay with his Leeds United 'family' after committing his future to the club for the next four years.
After a summer of transfer speculation that saw Gnonto linked with moves to the Premier League and abroad, the 20-year-old has signed a new contract with the club which will see him stay at Elland Road until 2028. What's more, the deal does not contain any release clauses, which means any potential future moves will only be done on Leeds' terms.
But for Gnonto, it's all about continuing his career at a club which he has taken to his heart. The Italian international has made a big impression since arriving from FC Zurich in 2020, and he revealed that he 'can't wait' to help Daniel Farke and Co fulfil their big ambitions for the club.

“It feels really good. I'm really happy for this extension. I'm really happy to be here and obviously I can't wait to play in front of the fans again," he said. "I've been here two years now and I'm going into my third season, I’m really happy to be here.
“It's been, since the start, I can say my second home. I really enjoyed being here and with the ambition in the club, I see my future here. I feel like it's important for me to find some consistency and I feel like the right place to do it this year. So I'm really happy and I can't wait to keep going with it.
“Since the start, I felt like Leeds United was like a family. I felt at home since the start and the fans were with me. My team-mates helped me through the start.
"I have many teammates, many changes, but I feel like this is a good place to be and I feel like I can improve even more. I feel like I can bring many things to the table. I know my qualities, of course and I know my character, I feel like I can gel really well with the team. So I try to give my best every time and I feel like everyone can see it.”
Gnonto will be hoping to celebrate his new deal with a win over Hull City at Elland Road today. He is expected to start on the wing to continue his good form since the start of the campaign.
