Wind and Rain from Tropical Cyclone Wipha Lash Hong Kong Harborfront

Storm clouds and rain passed over Hong Kong on Wednesday, July 31, as Tropical Cyclone Wipha hit the city.

The Hong Kong Observatory, the government’s meteorological agency, released the city’s first Number 8 typhoon signal of the year, prompting all school classes and ferry services to be suspended. It warned people to stay away from the shoreline and for residents to lock all windows and doors and to insert reinforced shutters and gates if possible.
