Wind turbine catches fire near Cambridgeshire village

A wind turbine has caught fire in Cambridgeshire this morning (February 2). The wind turbine, near to Coldham, was seen by people in the area with smoke and flames coming out of it.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue has been made aware of the situation and reported it at around 10.50am. Firefighters are currently attending to the scene.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said: "You may have seen there is a fire involving a wind turbine near Coldham. We have firefighters at the scene working hard to extinguish the fire.

"If you see the flames on your travels, please be assured that we are aware of the fire and have it under control.

"Crews from March and Stanground were called at around 10am to a fire involving a wind turbine on March Road in Coldham.

"They are currently working with onsite staff to contain the fire and ensure the area is safe."
