Windy Fire Grows to Over 40 Square Miles in Tulare County, California

The Windy Fire grew to 27,183 acres (approximately 42.5 square miles) on September 21 in Tulare County, California, according to officials.

The fire was burning in the Tule River Indian Reservation and in the Sequoia National Forest, and was at 5 percent containment as of September 21.
