Winona Ryder admits some of her past relationships were questionable.

"In my 30s, I had two disastrous relationships that were — they weren’t wrong, but this was before you would ever think to Google someone,” the actress says in a cover story for the Harper’s BAZAAR August 2024 Performance Issue.

Continued Ryder, "When I look back, I’m like, ‘What the hell was I thinking?' I was dating the type of person who only lets you know a few weeks in that they’re in a relationship with someone else. And you’re just like, ‘What the f---?’ ”

The Stranger Things star, 52, who returns in this fall's long-awaited Beetlejuice Beetlejuice sequel, told the outlet she recently looked over her diary that she kept around that time.

Ryder said, "You clearly write when you’re depressed or upset. I tend to not write when I’m really happy. I was going through them and just asking myself, ‘How?’ I was clearly trying to deal with … It was very sad. I was clearly trying to believe the best and to give grace to myself. But I was taking care of everything but myself."

Now, Ryder has been with partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn, founder of the company Loomstate, for 14 years. “He’s so great. He really is. I’m really lucky," she told the outlet.

Elsewhere in the interview, Ryder reflected on living her young adult life in the spotlight.

"I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to live this life — however intense and overwhelming it got, it’s nothing compared to what it is now with the internet and social media," she said. "I just find myself feeling tremendous empathy toward people who have sacrificed so much."

Ryder famously dated Johnny Depp after meeting at the New York premiere of Great Balls of Fire! in 1989. They went on their first date two months later. The pair (who costarred in the 1990 film Edward Scissorhands) got engaged five months after the first date, and Depp even got a tattoo that read "Winona Forever" — though, after their June 1993 breakup, he altered it to "Wino Forever."

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is in theaters Sept. 6.
