'Winter Love Island' is Coming to ITV2

'Love Island' is known as the UK's version of 'Bachelor in Paradise' and the #1 reality TV competition series. The addition of a spin-off indicates that it only keeps growing each year. ITV2 just released its trailer for its first ever 'Winter Love Island.' The winter series will take place in Cape Town.

The trailer is only ten seconds long. It shows a man wearing sunglasses looking up at a plane flying with a banner saying "do one, winter" and the show's theme song playing in the background.

While the 'Winter Love Island' trailer is very simple, true fans of the franchise know the exact meaning behind it.

'Love Island' posted the trailer on its official trailer and also aired the ad during 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!'

Fans took to twitter to share a wide range of reactions. Some fans were excited and couldn't wait for the spin-off. Others were confused since the show is known for its summer romances and requirement that everyone constantly walk around in a bikini.

"I CAME HERE TO TELL YOU THAT I LOVED YOU !" one fan wrote.

"Love you too!" 'Love Island' replied.

"WTF am i going mental or did i just see a love island winter advert ????" one fan asked.

"me in July: two series of love island a year is a bad idea.

"Me in Dec (dealing with SAD and exhaustion from the general election): BRING IT ON HUN!" another fan exclaimed.

"Hearing the love island sound during adverts! So weird hearing it in winter but fully can’t wait for next month!😂 #imaceleb #loveisland" another fan enthused.

'Love Island' has ran in the UK for 5 seasons. The show features a cast of islanders who are there looking for love. Each week, the girls or the boys choose who they want to be "coupled up with." At the end, viewers vote for the couple that they believe deserves to win. Viewers are also asked to vote on decisions that will impact the islanders like who enters the house, which couple should be kicked off, and other dramatic decisions.

After its success in the UK, 'Love Island Australia' aired in 2018. The Australian version currently has season 2 in the works.

'Love Island USA' also aired in the summer of 2019 on CBS. While the show had a severe lack of drama and fell flat with fans, CBS renewed the show for a 2nd season with hopes to spice up the show.

'Winter Love Island' currently doesn't have an exact air date. It is allegedly set to air in early January.
