Winter Storm Brings Hazardous Travel Conditions to Midwest

Winter weather advisories were in effect across Illinois and Iowa’s Quad Cities on Tuesday, December 28, as snow and freezing rain caused slick roads and reduced visibility, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Footage filmed by Twitter user @HPJG2020 shows strong winds blowing snow across a road in Silvis, Illinois. “Snow falling at a heavy rate now, and with mainly calm winds, but periodically there have been winds of 5-10 mph,” they wrote.
