Winter Storm Brings Heavy Snow to New York City

Several inches of snow were expected to fall in the tri-state region on Sunday, February 7, as a winter storm moved over the northeastern United States.

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast four to eight inches of heavy snow on Sunday for northeast New Jersey, New York City, and southwest Connecticut, while six to nine inches of snow were forecast for southeast Connecticut and eastern Long Island.

Snowfall was expected to reach one to two inches per hour, with possible power outages and potentially dangerous travel conditions.
