Winter Woodland light display to return with 'Gingerbread Lane' and exciting immersive features
The much-loved Winter Woodland light display is set to make a return to Sewerby Hall and Gardens in the run-up to Christmas.
This dazzling spectacle boasts an impressive array of lights, complemented by special effects that illuminate the grounds of Sewerby Hall and Gardens into the evening. The event, which will take place between Friday, December 6 and Sunday, December 22, promises to captivate all who visit and get everyone in a festive mood.
This year, Winter Woodland will showcase never-before-seen light installations centred around a festive theme. Visitors can look forward to a leisurely walk down Gingerbread Lane, with plenty of opportunities for selfies along the route.

Another new addition for 2024 is an immersive light tunnel.
Visitors will have the chance to become part of the narrative during their visit, with festive characters such as a Baker, Puss In Boots and the Golden Goose scattered along the light trail, providing entertainment along with their with their jolly interactions.
For those keen on fully immersing themselves in the experience, the Golden Goose will scatter golden eggs throughout the spectacular trail. These can be used to magically defeat the Old King Troll and save Christmas!
The festivities will extend inside Sewerby Hall, where a new exhibition will guide visitors through a journey of discovery, delving into the history and adaptations of the beloved fairy tale Puss in Boots.
Fear not about hunger pangs during your visit, as the Clock Tower Café, Stables Pizza Company, Love Hog Roast and Peaky Grinders will be serving food and drinks. A licensed bar from Louisianna's Bars will be set up in the courtyard marquee.
Along the route, you can also purchase refreshments including delicious toasted marshmallows.
To ensure visitors get the most out of their experience, there are specific arrival times to choose from each evening.
On Wednesday, December 11 and Monday, December 16, relaxed performances will take place, with the full experience continuing from 5.30pm. These performances will have lower volume, no lasers or haze/smoke machines, and the woodland characters will be mindful of sensory needs.
Councillor Nick Coultish, East Riding of Yorkshire Council's cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism, said: ''The new Christmas light show at Sewerby isn't just a visual spectacle; it's a way for families and the community to come together and enjoy the spirit of Christmas.
''The illuminations are a brilliant addition to the attraction and offer a mesmerising experience to wow the senses.
''As well as the light display there is lots of entertainment as well as festive food and drink, we hope to see lots of people take the opportunity to come along and enjoy this exciting event!"
