Wisconsin Refinery Explosion, Fire Prompts Evacuations

Officials ordered evacuations around the Husky Energy Refinery in Superior, Wisconsin, on Thursday, April 26, after an explosion and fire injured at least five people and pumped heavy black smoke into the air.

The evacuations extended 10 miles south of the refinery, three miles east and west, and one mile north. The smoke was visible for miles, seen in this video from the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth, Minnesota, across Superior Bay from the refinery.
