An 18-year-old woman was shoved to the ground during a terrifying sexual assault at a central London Tube station.

Police are hunting a man after the incident at Green Park station, who initially tried to engage the woman in conversation before attempting to kiss her.

He then sexually assaulted her and pushed her to the ground.

The incident happened at about 5.50am on Tuesday after the man got off a southbound Piccadilly Line train.

Detective Constable Elspeth Cook said: “We will simply never tolerate any form of unwanted sexual behaviour and a number of our officers are now working to trace the offender.

“We are today releasing a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak with in connection to this assault.

“If you know who this man is then please get in touch as soon as possible. Your information could prove vital in our enquiries.”
