Woman, 20, wounded Friday morning at South Shore residence, cops say

A 20-year-old woman was wounded by gunfire Friday morning at a residence in the South Shore neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m., the victim was inside a residence in the 7800 block of South Colfax Avenue when a gunman entered and fired shots in her direction, police said.

The victim was struck to the right shoulder and back. She was taken to UChicago Medicine where her condition was stabilized, police said.

No one was in custody for the attack, and detectives were investigating.
