A WOMAN who kicked police officers has been fined by Worcester magistrates.

As previously reported police were called to Alanna Knight's home in Pierpoint Street, Worcester, at 4am on Christmas Day last year.

The call was initially a concern for Knight's safety as she was threatening to jump from her balcony.

But officers trying to help the 24-year-old, originally from Florida, faced abusive language before backing off, leaving her home and heading into the street.

Knight's bad behaviour continued in the street, leading to her arrest.

When police tried to get Knight into a police van PC Hopkins was kicked three times to his upper leg, causing him momentary pain.

In custody Knight continued to be "very abusive", and in her cell kicked out twice at PC Jenkins right leg.

She then cupped water (from the cell toilet) and threw it in the face of PC Falconer.

Fergus Maxwell, defending Knight at an earlier hearing, said she had mental health issues and said although that didn't justify her actions, it put them into context.

Knight returned to Worcester Magistrates Court on March 13 to be sentenced.

She was given a one-year community order, which includes 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.

Knight was ordered to pay costs of £75 and victim surcharge of £114.

Magistrates agreed the total, £539, could be paid at a rate of £5 a week.

We previously reported Knight came to the Westlands estate in Droitwich to live with her dad after problems with drugs in the US.

In August 2021 she rugby-tackled a nurse at Worcestershire Royal Hospital before hitting an officer in the face with her 'urine-soaked trousers' in her cell.
