Woman, 36, dies in tragic crash as police appeal for witnesses

Police are asking the public for information regarding the accident.

A woman has tragically died following a collision between a car and an articulated lorry on a major Scots road.

Emergency crews raced out to the A75 between Annan and Eastriggs at around 9.30am this morning (November 27) following a horror smash between a black Ford KA and an articulated lorry.

The road remained closed at 5.02pm according to Traffic Scotland.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Road cops shut down the route as they began an investigation into the crash.

Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this difficult time. Officers will be supporting them through the investigation.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, and who has not already spoken to officers, to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in this area around that time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”
