Woman, 57, killed in tragic Coatbridge crash as police appeal for witnesses
A woman has died after she was struck by a car in Coatbridge on Saturday.
Emergency services raced to Brambling Road at around 5.20pm on Saturday, November 9 after reports of a crash involving a black Vauxhall Corsa and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a 57-year-old woman, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where she sadly later died. The driver of the Corsa was not injured.

The road was closed for around 7 hours while investigations were carried out. Road policing officers are now appealing for witnesses and ask anyone in the area with dash-cam or ring doorbell footage to get in touch.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this very difficult time.
“Enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to please get in touch.
“I would also urge anyone in the area with dash-cam or ring doorbell to check their footage and pass anything of note on to us.”
