Woman, 64, gives birth to set of healthy TWINS in Spanish hospital

A 64-year-old woman has given birth to a pair of healthy twins in a hospital in Spain.

The unnamed woman gave birth to the boy and girl by Caesarean section at the Recoletas Hospital in Burgos, in the north of the country.

She had undergone fertility treatment in the US in an attempt to get pregnant before giving birth in her home country.

The babies were born without any complications, with the boy weighing 5.3 pounds and the girl 4.8 pounds.

However, there are no concerns as to what will happen to the babies as the mother had a girl she gave birth to in 2012 taken into care by social services.

The child’s welfare was of concern to authorities, according to Spanish newspaper El Pais.

She was reportedly being brought up poorly clothed, isolated and with bad personal hygiene.

El Pais added that two other women in their 60s have given birth to healthy babies in Spain in recent years.
