Woman, 81, dies after emergency incident in Hamilton town centre
A pensioner has died following an emergency incident in Hamilton town centre.
Police were alerted to reports of a woman taking unwell on Brandon Street at the Top Cross in Hamilton on Monday, November 18 at around 11am and cordoned off the area.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at Price Kings but sadly the 81-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 11am on Monday, November 18 we were made aware a woman had taken unwell on Brandon Street in Hamilton.

"Emergency services attended, however, the 81-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
"There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.18am to attend an incident at the Top Cross in Hamilton.
"Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene.”
