Woman In Spain 'Beheaded Baby With Kitchen Knife At Cemetery Chapel's Altar'
A mother-of-two who this morning allegedly beheaded one of her young children with a kitchen knife at a Spanish cemetery has been arrested.
The 37-year-old is accused of killing the 3-month-old tot at the altar of a municipal burial ground’s chapel in La Villa de Don Fadrique, near Toledo, at 8 a.m.
Passersby called police after seeing the woman, who has not been named but is believed to be Spanish, acting “very erratically” in the cemetery.
They then found the decapitated body of the dead baby inside the chapel, reports El Mundo.
Officers arrived at the scene and reportedly found the woman walking around “in a highly disoriented state.”
She was treated by paramedics. Sources told local media that she had another 3-year-old child, and was married to a South American man.
The mother has also previously suffered from psychiatric issues.
She was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation, reports El Pais.
It’s not yet clear exactly what charges she will face.
La Villa de Don Fadrique’s town hall declared an official day of mourning following the incident.
