A woman has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in north London.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was thought to be known to the suspect, the Metropolitan Police said.

The man was found with stab injuries after officers were called to a property in Stamford Hill, Hackney shortly before 11am on Friday.

He was treated by officers who carried out CPR before paramedics arrived but despite the efforts of emergency services he died at the scene a short time later.

Katarzyna Poniatowska, 31, is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

It comes after an 89-year-old woman was found dead at a home in Bexleyheath.

A 57-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The suspect and the victim are believed to have been known to each other, the Metropolitan Police said.

He was taken to the hospital as a precaution after suffering self-inflicted injuries.
