Woman Refused Bail After Cowell 'Burglary'

A woman has been remanded in custody after being charged with breaking into Simon Cowell's London home with intent to cause him harm.

Leanne Zaloumis, 29, is accused of aggravated burglary and has been refused bail.

She allegedly broke into the music mogul's house in Holland Park after smashing a window with a brick.

She was found in Cowell's walk-in wardrobe on Saturday night at around 10.30pm with a brick in her hand.

Appearing at West London magistrates court, Zaloumis, of Catford, southeast London, spoke only to confirm her name and address.

She will remain in custody until she appears before Isleworth Crown Court on June 12.

In a statement, Cowell said: The matter is with the police and we are not commenting further."

A review of his security system at his £9m home is now believed to be underway.

Earlier that evening Cowell had appeared on television as a judge on his new series of ITV's Britain's Got Talent.

The 52-year-old was watching TV in the bedroom when he reportedly heard a a "loud bang" coming from the bathroom and called his staff.
