Woman dies after being hit by two lorries and two cars - and none of the drivers stop

A woman has died in south London after four vehicles hit her as she was crossing a road — none of the drivers stopped.

The victim, who is believed to be in her late 20s or early 30s, was hit by a lorry early on Monday morning while walking on a pedestrian crossing in Tulse Hill.

The Metropolitan Police say the woman was then struck by another lorry and two cars and “none of these drivers stopped”.

Paramedics treated her at the scene on Norwood Road, but she was pronounced dead at 7.21am.

Formal identification is yet to take place, but police say her next of kin have been been informed.

Alastair Middleton, Acting Detective Sergeant, said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us. I would also urge the drivers of all four vehicles to come forward and speak with my team."

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and a post-mortem has yet to be conducted.
