A woman has died after being pulled from the sea off the Welsh coast. A major search and rescue operation was launched off the coast of Llandudno at around 3am of Thursday.

North Wales Police, the Welsh Ambulance Service, RNLI lifeboats, and HM Coastguard teams, with the support of a rescue helicopter, were all called in to assist. The 57-year-old woman was found shortly after, and flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd, before being pronounced dead, reports North Wales Live.

Detective Inspector Kris Williams said: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this time, who we continue to support. The circumstances of the death are not being treated as suspicious, and the coroner has been informed.”
