Woman dies after being 'trapped under vehicle'
A woman has died after being found trapped under a vehicle on a Staffordshire street. Police, paramedics, firefighters and the air ambulance were called to the scene in Tamworth where sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now Staffordshire Police have confirmed a cordon has gone up at the property on Wilnecote's Bowling Green Avenue. Emergency services had descended on the scene at around 10.50am today.
West Midlands Ambulance Service says a number of resources were sent to the scene.

A spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a patient who was trapped underneath a vehicle on Bowling Green Avenue. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was in a critical condition. Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene."
Police are today working to establish the circumstances around the tragedy.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "We have put a cordon in place following the death of a woman in Tamworth today. Officers went to the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and found an elderly woman trapped under a vehicle. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the woman died at the scene. Officers set up a cordon around the address and have been speaking to nearby residents to find out more about what happened. Enquiries are ongoing."
