Woman dies and BMW driver fights for life after coach crash

A young woman has died and a BMW driver is fighting for his life after the car they were travelling in collided with a school bus. The incident happened on the B4208 Welland Road, Worcestershire, about 11 miles northwest of Tewkesbury.

The female passenger in the car was in her 20s and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the black BMW was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The coach was on its way to pick up schoolchildren at the time of the collision and so only the driver was on board. The coach driver reportedly suffered only minor injuries in the collision.

West Mercia Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision yesterday afternoon (26 November) on the B4208, Welland in Worcestershire. The collision happened at about 3.30pm when a coach, without passengers, collided with a black BMW.

"The passenger of the BMW, a woman in her 20s, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was flown to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Officers would like to speak to anybody who may have seen the collision or from anybody who has dash cam footage from around the time it happened. Please contact Police Constable Nick Warren by emailing nicholas.warren@westmercia.police.uk
