Woman dies after M&S car park crash

A woman has sadly died after a crash in a car park in Torquay. Emergency services were called to the Marks and Spencer car park at The Willows at around 4.20pm yesterday (Thursday, January 9).

Devon and Cornwall Police said the tragic incident involved a red Citroen C3 and a woman. The woman, aged in her 80s and from Bovey Tracey, was rushed to Derriford Hospital but died later that evening.

The driver, a man from Paignton, was not injured. Investigating police officers are now appealing for information on the crash.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A section of the car park was closed to allow for a forensic examination of the scene and to allow for the recovery of the vehicle.

"Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and would like to speak with any witnesses or anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam. Please contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 518 of 09/01/25."
