Woman dies after major search and rescue operation off Llandudno

A woman has died following a major search and rescue operation off Llandudno today.

North Wales Police., the Welsh Ambulance Service, RNLI and HM Coastguard teams, including the rescue helicopter all take part in the operation which was launched at around 3am after reports that a woman was in the water.

A woman, 57, was found in the water a short time afterwards. She was flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd, where she sadly died.

Detective Inspector Kris Williams said: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this time, who we continue to support.

“The circumstances of the death are not being treated as suspicious, and the coroner has been informed.”
